Planning Your Event

Planning your event should be stress free and no one event is the same. It is fair to say that most people will be at a different stage in the process when it comes to hiring a marquee.

Below is a checklist of some of the questions that need to be considered to when organising a successful event/party. From your answers to the below you can visit our Marquee Size Chart to help you further in your planning or contact me for a quote for a site visit.

Your event details

At Sawtry Marquees we cater for Garden Parties, Weddings and Corporate Event. The checklist of requirements however is generic for these categories and will help you decide on which marquee size will suit your event.

Other than the questions that follow, please provide your Event date, Event location, Type of Event/Celebration is the installation on grass or hard standing?

A.    Event size

Q.     How many guests are you anticipating – will they all be arriving at a specified time or different times?
Q.     Do all guests need to be under cover in the marquee or is it to be used in conjunction which your house?
Q.     Are the guests to be seated or is it standing room only
Q.     If seated will it be waitress service or buffet help yourself
Q.     Would you like a dance area, catering tent or bar area
Q.     Do you require a separate catering /service marquee?

B.    Accessories and Finish

1.     Lining the ceiling and wallsLined or unlined.
2.     Flooring options – flooring can have matting, be carpeted or left as natural.
3.     External appearance – Entrance marquee or Archway.
4.     Lighting options – Range of lighting from Globes to Chandeliers.
3.     Heating needs – Simple pole heaters and thermostatically controlled heating.
3.     Dance floors and Entertainment.
